The Countdown Begins

It's not like we celebrate it on a large scale here in Malaysia,
but there's certainly no harm wishing everyone right?

Happy Halloween!!
-
-
Did you know?
-
The carved pumpkin, lit by a candle inside, is one of Halloween's most prominent symbols in America, and is commonly called a jack-o'-lantern. Originating in Europe, these lanterns were first carved from a turnip or rutabaga. Believing that the head was the most powerful part of the body containing the spirit and the knowledge, the Celts used the "head" of the vegetable to frighten off any superstitions.[7]
-
The name jack-o'-lantern can be traced back to the Irish legend of Stingy Jack, [8] a greedy, gambling, hard-drinking old farmer. He tricked the devil into climbing a tree and trapped him by carving a cross into the tree trunk. In revenge, the devil placed a curse on Jack, condemning him to forever wander the earth at night with the only light he had: a candle inside of a hollowed turnip.
-
The carving of pumpkins is associated with Halloween in North America,[9] where pumpkins were readily available and much larger, making them easier to carve than turnips. Many families that celebrate Halloween carve a pumpkin into a frightening or comical face and place it on their home's doorstep after dark. In America the tradition of carving pumpkins is known to have preceded the Great Famine period of Irish immigration. The carved pumpkin was originally associated with harvest time in general in America and did not become specifically associated with Halloween until the mid-to-late 19th century.

I'm sure everyone knows what logging is. The thing where trees are cut down for development purposes? Yup, that's it. So the question is: What do you do when logging is going on next door?
And the answer is: Go snap a few pictures :p

'Cross-section' of the trunk of an oil palm tree.

Guess construction works are gonna begin soon.

25 October 2008
Went cycling in the evening, just to take a few pictures around my area. It was already getting dark by the time I left the house.
So didn't get to take many.

First shot.

Hope I didn't break the speed limit. HAHA

The Club @ The Saujana KL.
Ini Shah Alam la -.-

The Saujana.

And then I headed back home.

Later that night, went to BSC with dad to in search of books to help me decide/confirm on what I'll be doing next year. They didn't have any, so we headed over to Gardens, Midvalley. Just when we got out of the lift, guess who was so NGAM walking past. Teck Jenn. We stared at each other, stunned for a while, and kinda acknowledged each other. Both equally surprised.

Anyways, headed over to MPH and managed to get 3 books.
Haven't started on any one of em yet. I should. Soon.

Is this what I wanna do? We'll see.

High School Never Ends

My internet connection has been down for the past week or so.
And I'm here to update, obviously.
Decided to split my post today into 2 parts.

Whatever Jimmy's up to.
My 'candle-lantern-like-thing' on the right.

Technical difficulties?

Work it.

There goes Yi-Vonne :p

In the shadows.

After many many many many shots.
Still blur.

Emo-ing in a circle with candlelight?

No doubt all of us had fun.
Kent has claimed the title 'Foochouk-King'.
We were REALLY full after the steamboat.
And we watched part of MAMAMIA!! -.-

18 October 2008

Look who we found - Qing Ling!!

So-called Karate pose? Something lidat.

Some other retarded pointing pose.

'Emo-ing' in the middle of the street.

See the guy on the right? That's RABIN.
AT LEAST we know what's his name.

Ais kacang.
There is no doubt that we enjoyed this local dessert.

No disagreement here.

You see the dark red one? It's shaved ice + syrup and gula melaka. Kent's ais kacang without the kacang -.-
We had fun at the playground playing Ninja/Hide&Seek.

Satay and ais kacang are great local food.

12.09.08

Day 4 of trials retake. And we shall have lotsa FUN doing BM and ModMath tomorrow! -.-
Even more fun than the fun all the Form3s out there will be having after the last PMR paper, which is I dunno what.
-
FINALLY, I'll be going for my Amali (3hrs theory + 3hrs practical)
this Sunday, and be that much closer to getting my P after SPM.
-
Oh and bout the whole 3 years local + 3 years Australia thing,
scratch that for the moment.
Everything might change in the course of a few seconds, minutes, hours, days, or weeks. WHO KNOWS.
(no 'sneak-peaks' / 'spoilers' available at the moment - maybe sometime next week)
-
As for now, it's about time for me to go open up some BM books.
Oh my favourites.
Lambaian Malar Hijau, Serunai Malam, Duhai Pentafsir, Kerusi, Di Sisi Rinda, Bukit Kepong, Konserto Terakhir, blabla and more blablas.
-
Here we go again.

N2+H2=NH3

It was the first day of our trials RETAKE.

(Okay I have no clue what to say anymore. I'm here mainly cause Nitrogen and Hydrogen has filled up whatever space I had left in my head).

Keeping this short.

-

I guess it's pretty safe to say that my mind is kinda set on what I wanna/gonna be doing next year (after SPM). Nah, not A-levels or SAM or some other Matriculation or Pre-U programmes.

This is how it's probably gonna go down:
3 years @ Taylor's - Diploma in Architechtural Technology
1 year @ Melbourne U - Bachelor Degree in Environment
2 years @ Melbourne U - Master in Architechture

So that's 3 years local + 3 years over at Australia.

However, I'm gonna keep my options open (maybe just to Accountancy), but most probably gonna head for Architechture. Mainly cause I have more interest in it as compared to Accountancy.

MOST PROBABLY ONLY.

Who knows. I might end up changing my mind and wanting to do Medicine instead (yeah right).

-

And so now it's time to end this post by saying that I will update sometime soon, when I'm not so busy with exams blablabla - that kinda thing.

So yes, back to the books.

(or bed) ..zzZ

ketupat&rendang

It's been a very, very long time since I had the chance to get up naturally. As in, without the alarm waking me up. It has either been cause of school, tuition, or something else. But fortunately for me, even though I didn't sleep in that late, I was still happy as THERE WAS NO ALARM :D

Okay that was pretty gay -.-

-

ANYWAYS. I tagged along with my dad to his friend's Hari Raya open house over at Cheras. At lunch, I learnt something new (not sure whether it's a regular custom everywhere else, or just in this household). It seems that when eating rice, you gotta use a plate (duhh, yes i know), but when you're eating lontong (it's the same as nasi impit right?), you use a bowl. Or somethingggg like that.

After that, for some reason we ended up at Pasar Seni, KL. Also known as Central Market, where they have all the local arts and crafts stuff. The roads and kaki limas of that area were filled with immigrants. You wouldn't even know that you were in Malaysia, seriously. Putting that aside, it's been 2 years plus since I was at Pasar Seni, and in my opinion, that place has changed alot (in a good way). But then again, it could also be that I did not really take a good look around and explore the building back then. Few foreigners/tourists here and there, having fun shopping for local handicrafts. We left the place and headed home.

-

I NEED TO START STUDYING PROPERLY ONCE MORE. Yesterday's study group at McD did help a little. Beats watching TV at home -.-

And to be totally honest, the only reason I'm here blogging right now is to wish everyone a very happy and safe Hari Raya.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri!! (:

Okay byebye.
