Buah Sejuk

Man, I do not like winter. Wait, it isn’t even winter yet -.- Lemme rephrase that: I do not like the cold weather. The temperature range for this week is like 7-13°C. To make things worse, most probly there’s gonna be showers tomorrow, which also happens to be the first day of Term 2. What an awesome way of ending the three week break. Doesn’t matter, all’s good. I have tonnes of fruits in the fridge (so cold) to keep me company?

P4240168 P4240115

Nahhhh I don’t really have THAT many fruits with me. It’s like this, the day before dad left, which means.. Friday. We went over to Queen Victoria Market to get some fruits for him to bring back to Malaysia. Wound up with three whole boxes =.=

P4240114

1 box of strawberries (12 packets)

1 box of peaches (25 fruits)

1 box of custard apples (10 fruits)

Wow so colourful. Anyways, dad’s luggage was almost 10kg overweight. Guess my estimation was way off xD But he managed to get through after making some adjustments. And of course, I kept some of the fruits for myself. So yeah, plenty of fruits for this week.

-

[Random: Damn annoying. Closed my windows cause it’s cold out. And because there’s no airflow in the room, the freaking range hood above the stove is like sucking / blowing out cold air. That’s not too bad. The thing is that it’s pretty noisy =.=]

So it’s the last of the first break here in Melbourne. I have indulged enough for the past week in the awesome Italian cuisine available on Lygon. And now it’s back to cooking for myself on a daily basis. Started off with the same old fried rice last night, accompanied with lamb :D And lunch today was sausages with home-made fries which was awesome.

Update? Been watching lotsa episodes of Smallville, currently at Season 2 Episode 7. Oh yeah, before this I heard some people saying that Bangkok Dangerous was lousy. Watched it last night over dinner and found it pretty nice actually. Hmmm. Yes, I’m practically online the whole day, constantly waiting for people to update their blogs. And since noone is gonna be doing so until maybe late tonight, why not I just blog to keep myself entertained? Seems to be working so far at least.

-

And now it’s Season 2 Episode 8. This entertaining myself thing ain’t going that well. Let’s see.. I may be moving out of my place soon. MAYBE. Cause well, my unit is actually owned by a real estate company and they’ve been bringing customers over to view the place almost every Saturday. And now they have a potential buyer. So IF the guy does agree to settle the fee needed to be paid (cause I’m actually breaking my contract, which is until January 2010), and IF there’s another unit available for me for the next 6 months or so, then yeah sure, I wouldn’t mind moving out. That’s a problem settled - don’t have to worry bout renting out my place for December and January. Then again, who knows what’ll happen. Might be all talk and no action. Still too early to tell.

I shall continue blogging tonight after dinner.

You know you’re eating just a little too much when you start using the bigger plate during meals, rather than the old plate you’re used to. I don’t blame the weather, but that could just be the very reason why. Also, I now find snacking inevitable. The only way to restrain myself is by not over-purchasing during the regular Safeway visits. That ain’t really working, so.. Doesn’t really matter now, does it? You need food especially unhealthy snacks like biscuits, cookies, and TimTams to keep yourself warm during cold days in! xD

That’s pretty much it from me for now. Till the next time I find myself sitting here in front of the laptop wondering what to do, see y’all real soon. Perhaps even in MMF!

Appreciate blog posts!

“ROAR”

Went the burger.

P4090015

=====================================================================

To Safeway on Wednesday. OPEN.
To Safeway on Thursday. OPEN.
To Safeway on Good Friday. Closed.
To Safeway yesterday. OPEN.
To Safeway today (Easter). Closed.

=====================================================================

The story goes like this. Heng Cheng (formerly from CHS) has been eating at my place for almost every meal since I dunno when, for a VERY MINIMAL grocery fee. This arrangement just came about in April. It’s only fair to me right? Takkanlah he live off me for the whole year. So yeah. I see him just about every single day. Nah I’m not complaining. It’s a fair and just business transaction xD

So anyways, decided to have burgers on Thursday, so we got the stuff needed on Wednesday. So we had a HUGE burger each (as depicted in the above picture) for lunch on Thursday. Dropped by Safeway again in the evening to get more stuff for dinner, which ended up as ‘Hokkien noodles’. Well, that was what it said on the packet at least.

Then came Friday when we had lunch at Nando’s (which is just downstairs) with Jasmine, who was leaving for Singapore later in the afternoon. Then, after a game of tennis, dropped by Safeway in hopes of getting some fresh ingredients for dinner, only to find a sign by the walkalator (those flat escalators?) stating that it’s closed. Resorted to leftover burger buns with whatever scraps of food I had left in the fridge. i.e. egg, ham, bacon, cheese. It wasn’t all that bad. But that was after a bowl of cereal xD

So Saturday morning came and off I went to Safeway once more to get some stuff for lunch, which resulted in more beef patties to accompany the leftover burger buns (they came in a 6 pack kay). This time I smart a bit, got more noodles and some beef to keep for dinner or whatever. Right. Ended up having ANOTHER burger for dinner =.=

Then today, OF ALL DAYS (today being Easter), after Heng Cheng came over for lunch, we were bored like.. bored people. He wanted to go Safeway to get some stuff for himself, so OFF WE WENT!! And what a surprise, it was closed. Back to CS. Continued watching Smallville - currently Season 1 Episode 7.

And as you may have already noticed, Safeway is a great place to hang out whenever you’re bored at home during the break with nothing else to do. Rather than going down to the city to window-shop or to actually shop for clothes and what knot, it’s so much more productive to head over to Safeway which is bout a 5 minute walk away to do some grocery shopping!! (or so I tell myself :/)

What else can you do? Randomly call up people at 8 something at night to see if they’re interested in joining you for a trip down to Krispe Kreme in the city. But the thing is, most people are either back in their home countries now, or have some family member over with them. So it was just Heng Cheng, Michelle, and myself who walked all the way down to Krispe Kreme only to find out that all they had left were 8 miserable doughnuts, with 2 choices to pick from. Settled for the Cinnamon Cream, and we walked all the way back up to Arrow, and me back to College Square. Ah, one and a half hours well spent.

And how would one end the night just like this one here, right now? By chatting online and blogging of course!! :D

What a wordy post this has turned out to be.

Appreciate your busy-ness.

Erm, SOON. Oh yeah, don’t forget bout the RM30K either (just in case you or Su Kheng has forgotten bout it) :p And damn chun lor, Jeremy AND Su Kheng has already blogged bout the dinner. Haha okay that’s about it from me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY once more!

Hoe-Lee-Daehh!!

I could not come up with a more appropriate title. With the (only) two papers I had over and done with, the break begins today, and it shall last for another 20 days!! :D

- 6 April 2009

=====================================================================

And now, coming in LIVE from Maple Street which was like a 15 minute walk from the train station, here I am now, after having a really filling lunch courtesy of Zhen Feng.

P4070008 Spaghetti with tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, carrots, and bacon bits; garnished
with parsley flakes and coriander leaves, with shredded mozzarella cheese in between.

So yeah, the holidays are here. 3 weeks to spend on absolutely nothing!!

I wish. Well first things first - There’s a book I’ve gotta read for Literature which is bout a man burning books in the future =.= Then of course there’s the extra reading for ahem hardworking people ahem like me, that are the HOI and E&D readings. What else what else. Well my dad will be coming over in just over a week’s time. He’s gonna be here for around 10 days - time to scout around for next year’s accommodation? And perhaps even do some shopping. Here’s the list of things I wanna buy when my dad’s here:

  1. Shoes

That’s pretty much it for now. I mean, besides the pair of jogging shoes, I have only one other pair for everyday wear. Shoes are good. For your feet. xD

=====================================================================

Going back to last night..

The (big) bunch of us went out for dinner on Lygon last night to celebrate Delima’s 18th birthday, which was on the 4th of April. You have no idea how cold it was outside, with a slight drizzle somemore. Mhm, I just can’t wait for winter =.= I’d go for the heat rather than the cold anytime. We’re Malaysians! We’re raised this way - to withstand high temperatures? HAHA (to those who kept saying they couldn’t wait for winter during the summer).

Anyways, we had an Italian dinner (what else??) at Cafe Trevi, and walked further down the street where some of em got gelato. And THAT was when..

P4060006
Jeng jeng jeng. Super long white limousine!!

P4060011
Even longer black one across the street (or was it just an illusion) :s

P4060035
Happy 18th Birthday Delima!!

After dropping by Safeway to get some snacks, most of us headed down to Arrow to party? Guess you can call it ‘partying’. Or maybe not. Haha I learnt how to play poker!! Awesome.

P4060058
We played for about an hour I think. It was nice. No, there was no actual money involved.

P4060055

=====================================================================

Aight, time to round things up.

Happy Belated 18th Birthday Jeremy!!

Daylight Savings

It ends right here, right now.
Tonight is the night you leave us be.

From tonight or tomorrow morning (well the official time is 3am) onwards, the time difference between Malaysia and Melbourne is reduced to just 2 hours!! This will last for 6 months, that is till October when daylight savings will start again, which will then mark the beginning of the 3 hours difference. But for now, let us enjoy this little luxury that we share! xD

Appreciate your water.

Last Call

Happy April Fools’ Day!! :D

You see people, I have the courtesy of not pulling any tricks or jokes on you. How nice.

HOWEVER, watch out next year. Something HUGE is on its way.

Till then.

P.S. Can someone please remind me bout this in March 2010? Thanks!

Appreciate your breakfast.
